Rock and Roll Legend, Sammy Hagar, loves him some Barton Perreira and Persol Sunglasses.

Sammy Hagar van halen Optical Images Sunglasses 232x300 Rock and Roll Legend, Sammy Hagar, loves him some Barton Perreira and Persol Sunglasses. We all know that rock stars know a thing or two…or three about accessorizing and fashion. With that being said,  rock and roll icon Sam Roy “Sammy” Hagar, known as “The Red Rocker” and frontman for one of the biggest American rock bands ever- Van Halen, knows what’s up. For decades, Sammy has been associated with both style and rock and roll.  And today, he still continues to jam with his solo band ‘The Waboritas’ and his other band “ChickenFoot”.  I think it’s safe to say that Sammy may know a thing or two about what’s cool. Recently, he has been spotted around LA donning some stylish sunglasses, yet still frames that are age appropriate. Optical Images, located in Baltimore, Maryland, carries a variety of sunglasses and eyewear, including Sammy’s picks.

He loves his Barton Perreira sunglasses-Barton Perreira Altair optical images baltimore Rock and Roll Legend, Sammy Hagar, loves him some Barton Perreira and Persol Sunglasses. model: Altair and color: silver with Eden Lenses. These Barton Perreiras have a chic and trendy modified aviator (navigator) look. They are great frames to have on hand for ‘grab and go’ sunglasses that make almost anyone look instantly cool.

The Red Rocker has also been seen in a pair of timeless Persol sunglasses, model: 2961s color: 811/31. Persol sunglasses optical images baltimore 2961s 81131 Rock and Roll Legend, Sammy Hagar, loves him some Barton Perreira and Persol Sunglasses. Having a pair of plastic frames and metal frames is a must when it comes to sunglasses. These plastic Persol sunglasses have a classic shape, never go out of style and the blonde tortoise color is either ‘rocker’ or ‘chic’, depending on whom is wearing them. Different frame and lens shapes and colors are available in both of these frames at Optical Images, located in Pikesville. While we are not sure which sunglasses Sammy was wearing back in March of 2007 when he was inducted into the ‘Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’ as a member of Van Halen (Congrats Sammy), we are pretty sure they were most likely cool.

Gold Sunglasses… Shining Brightly

Sama Gold Eyewear at Optical Images e1280098617884 Gold Sunglasses... Shining Brightly

The trend of gold-lensed sunglasses certainly seems to have stemmed from the plethora of paparazzi shots of celebrities like Brad Pitt, Rhianna, Jolie, Halle Berry and Angelina Jolie, just to name a few. And I think the trend of gold-lensed sunglasses are definitely shining brightly and here to stay. Optical Images carries the top designers who have started and maintained this trend, such as Sama, Badgley Mischka, David Yurman and Mykita. Some frames come already tinted gold, or you can custom order gold lenses for most frames. In the words of Austin Powers: “I Love Goooold!” and Optical Images would definitely have to agree.

“Lost’s” Ian Somerhalder certainly isn’t lost when it comes to style…

Barton Ian Somerhalder Gilberts Losts Ian Somerhalder certainly isnt lost when it comes to style...

Ian Somerhalder ( you may recognize him from “Lost” ) is styling in his Barton Perreira ‘Gilberts’- a very popular sunglass / prescription eyewear frame right now. We love the vintage feel to these shades and the lenses are available in custom colors ( David Letterman, another fan of the ‘Gilbert’s', likes his lenses green). The great thing about mens vintage sunglasses is that they look good no matter what your age is. Another great thing about vintage eyeglasses is that many of the vintage pieces are available with ready made clips, instantly turning prescription eyewear into sunglasses.

IMosley Tribes Lyndel 4 300x200 Mosley Tribes: limited edition Native American inspired beaded temple sunglasses. Amazingn July, 2010 Mosley Tribes will present the newest addition to the Lyndel Sunglass Category – the hand beaded edition. If you couldn’t guess, these frames are inspired by the elements of Native American arts and culture. These may be one of the coolest frames we’ve seen. To die for, if you ask us.

Both temples (the sides) on these black sunglasses are individually laid using bright ceramic beads. The frame design is retro-inspired ( big fan ) with an angular plastic cut and retro pin detailing on the front corners.

These frames aren’t available until July, but contact Optical Imagesif you want to pre-order. Need an ego boost? Be the first to rock these shades and let the compliments begin…..

Summer Blues and Candy-Like-Hues….

NeimanMarcusBartonPerrieraSunglasses1 e1277665320525 Summer Blues and Candy Like Hues....

Over-sized, vintage, metal and plastic aviator inspired, Jackie-O inspired and many more unique sunglasses are all the rage. But what really separates this seasons eyewear from past collections? Color, Color, Color! For both regular frames and sunglasses. Eyeglasses are jewelry for your eyes, are they not? Just like shoes- you should have fun with your sunglass collection. Mix  it up. Have options. It’s Summer time and sunglasses aren’t just an accessory, but considered an outfit within them-selves!

While clear plastic frames are super popular, frames with a twist of color- lavender, turquoise, yellow, orange, green or blue- really enhance the face and create a glow, a pop! We are seeing a lot of blue- not electric blue, think deep sea/cobalt, (as seen in the Barton Perreira sunglasses above,  which also come in red, several tortoise shades (to die for) , black, clear,  amethyst…), in both sunglasses and  eyeglasses. When picking out sunglasses and eyeglasses it is important to consider your faces color complexion (warm vs. cold), this color blue seems to not only look great with all complexions, but it is still a somewhat muted blue shade, which makes it a great color for both the person more on the conservative side, or for that visionista who is a little more funky.

To see these sunglasses ( style-name: ‘Secret  Alibi’) in all the available colors ,click here and view this seasons Barton Perreira’s 2010 eyewear collection. If we don’t have your preferred color in stock we can special order any-which-one you want, and that goes for all of the brands and collections we carry! Because, what our customers want… they get. Always. So spruce up your Summer and have some fun with color – trust us, even before you think the whole “I could never pull that off” idea – don’t. This style of color and color accents enhances everyone’s complexion and face. You’d be surprised….You’re not even going to want to take them off!
